Services

SEO that starts with the plumbing and ends with leads

Technical fixes first, then pages that match what buyers search for, local visibility, and content that search engines and AI assistants can quote. Reported next to enquiries and revenue.

SEO services make a website easy for search engines and AI assistants to crawl, understand and quote, then add the pages that match what buyers are searching for. We work in a fixed order: technical SEO first, then content for buying intent, then local SEO and optimization for AI answers. Meritbyte Technologies is a Nepal-based web and software development company with an SEO practice; we do not buy links, we make no ranking guarantees, and we report rankings next to the enquiries and revenue they produce.

What do our SEO services include?

Four areas, each with something you can check:

Why technical SEO comes first

Content cannot rank if search engines cannot reach, render or trust the page it sits on. We check:

  • Indexing. Which pages Google has indexed and why others were excluded, from the Page indexing report in Search Console.
  • Crawl waste. Filter, tag and parameter URLs that burn crawl attention on near-duplicates.
  • Canonicals and redirects. One URL per page, no redirect chains, no important pages lost in a past redesign.
  • Rendering. Whether key content and links exist in the HTML or only appear after JavaScript runs.
  • Speed. Core Web Vitals from real users: LCP at or under 2.5 s, INP at or under 200 ms, CLS at or under 0.1.
  • Structured data. Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, Article and FAQ markup where the content genuinely supports it.
  • Internal links. Service pages reachable within a few clicks, with descriptive anchor text.

The full list is in our technical SEO audit checklist. Fixes are made by our developers or handed to yours with exact instructions, and where the site itself is the problem, our web development team can rebuild it.

Content that matches buying intent

The pages that produce leads answer the searches people make just before they buy: "[service] in [city]", "[product] price", "[option A] vs [option B]", "how to choose a [provider]". We build a keyword map that gives each page one primary query, so your own pages do not compete with each other, then write or rewrite pages to answer that query in the opening sentences. Blog posts come after the pages that sell, and each links to the service it supports.

Local SEO for businesses that serve an area

If customers find you on Google Maps or through "near me" searches, your Google Business Profile often matters more than your website. Local work covers:

  • Primary and secondary categories, services, hours, service areas and photos that match reality.
  • The same name, address and phone number on your site, directories and social profiles.
  • A routine for asking every customer for a review. Google's policies prohibit paying for reviews and selectively asking only happy customers, so we set up neither.
  • Bing Places and Apple Business Connect, which feed maps and assistants outside Google.
  • A location page for each area you serve, with genuinely local detail.

The step-by-step version is in Google Business Profile optimization, and SEO in Nepal covers what differs for Nepali businesses.

Answer engine optimization (AEO) is structuring pages so search features and AI Overviews can lift a direct answer from them. Generative engine optimization (GEO) is making your business known and credible enough that assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot mention or cite it. Much of it is good SEO done precisely:

  • A self-contained answer in the first sentences of each key page, and question-style headings.
  • Clear entity signals: one consistent business name, what you do and where, matching schema markup and profiles.
  • Mentions on sites assistants already trust, such as industry directories, associations and press.
  • Deliberate robots.txt decisions per crawler: OAI-SearchBot serves ChatGPT search while GPTBot collects training data, and blocking Google-Extended does not remove you from AI Overviews, which use Googlebot.
  • Bing Webmaster Tools, since Bing's index feeds Microsoft Copilot.

Measurement here is still immature. We track referrals from AI assistants in GA4 and run a fixed set of prompts monthly, and we say plainly what cannot yet be measured. Read more in our guides to answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization.

What we will not do

  • Buy links. Paid links, link networks and link exchanges break Google's spam policies and put your whole domain at risk. We earn links with pages worth citing and outreach to real publications.
  • Promise rankings. Nobody controls Google's results. Google's own guidance on hiring an SEO warns against anyone who does.
  • Publish mass AI-written pages. Google treats pages generated at scale mainly to rank as spam, and they rarely convert anyway.

How an SEO engagement runs and is reported

It begins with a free scoping call that ends in a scope, a timeline and a number. The first milestone is fixed-price: the technical audit, a ranked fix list and the keyword map. Work then runs in two-week blocks or on a monthly retainer, with a written update every week and new pages reviewed on a staging URL before they go live.

Reports put rankings and traffic next to what the business cares about: form submissions and calls tracked as GA4 key events, and, where you share CRM data, the revenue from organic leads. Search Console, analytics and Business Profile access stay in your company's name.

How SEO is priced

Cost depends on site size and technical debt, how competitive your queries are, how many locations or countries you target, and whether we write the content or edit yours. Sites targeting several countries need extra work on hreflang and structure, covered in our international SEO guide. If you are deciding where a limited budget goes first, Google Ads vs SEO sets out the trade-offs honestly.

How to choose an SEO company

Ask for a sample report: if it shows rankings and traffic but never enquiries, you will get the same. Ask which links they built last month, and who owns the accounts. Walk away from anyone offering a number-one position, a fixed count of backlinks per month, or a secret method they cannot explain.

Frequently asked questions

How long does SEO take to show results?

Technical fixes can show effects within weeks once pages are recrawled. New content usually takes several months to reach stable positions, longer in competitive markets or on new domains. We set expectations per query at the start, and monthly reports show leading signals such as impressions and indexed pages before rankings and leads follow.

Can you promise first-page rankings?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Search engines decide rankings, their systems change often, and Google's own guidance warns against firms promising positions. What we commit to is the work: fixes shipped, pages published, profiles maintained, and honest reporting of rankings next to leads and revenue.

We earn links rather than buy them: pages worth citing, digital PR, industry directories and associations that matter in your sector, and relationships with local and trade publications. We do not pay for links, use private blog networks or join link exchanges, because these break Google's spam policies and can lead to ranking losses that are slow to reverse.

What is the difference between AEO and GEO?

AEO focuses on being the direct answer shown in search features such as AI Overviews and featured snippets. GEO focuses on being mentioned or cited when people ask assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity. They overlap heavily: both reward clear, answer-first pages, consistent business information and a reputation that exists beyond your own website.

Do you do SEO for businesses outside Nepal?

Yes. We work with businesses in Nepal and, remotely, with clients in the USA, Australia, Canada, the UK and elsewhere. Technical and content work is the same everywhere; local SEO, languages and search habits differ by market, and multi-country sites need hreflang and a clear URL structure.
